CHOOOSE becomes an official strategic partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA)
”Decarbonizing aviation requires ecosystem collaboration—it may be cliché, but it is also true that this is not an exercise that a single entity can tackle alone. With this in mind, CHOOOSE looks forward to actively participating in IATA’s Strategic Partnerships Program, as well as the opportunities this program provides to strengthen relationships with key industry stakeholders. We believe programs like this help make us stronger as an organization, position us to even better support our partners in aviation, and play a key role in moving the whole ecosystem forward,” says Nina Birger, VP Climate Solutions at CHOOOSE.

Since 1990, the IATA Strategic Partnerships Program has provided a unique forum for airlines and their stakeholders to focus on the work that they do together to build an ever safer, more reliable, and more sustainable global air transport network.

When the SPP was established 30 years ago, there was little formal dialogue between the airline industry and its service providers on the issue of setting vital industry standards. IATA recognized the untapped potential, given that suppliers represented a vast reservoir of technical knowledge. In 1990, IATA and nine founding companies joined forces to create the SPP, including Accelya, Amadeus, ARINC, GE Aviation, IER, Nordisk, SITA, SNCF, and Unisys.

Focused on only a few strategic areas, its objectives were to pool resources and expertise, support IATA and its initiatives, and assist in the development, implementation, and promotion of industry standards. Today, the SPP has grown into a community of over 420 partners worldwide.

About IATA

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is the trade association for the world’s airlines, representing some 320 airlines or 83% of total air traffic. We support many areas of aviation activity and help formulate industry policy on critical aviation issues.
