Our favourite climate Allstar Astrid S is finally out with her debut album, and we can't wait for her climate positive world tour in 2021. Listen to her debut album here!

Today Astrid S releases her debut album 'Leave It Beautiful' along with new single ‘Airpods’, via Universal Music Norway. Stream ‘Leave It Beautiful’ here.

The new album is a 10-track coming-of-age record that proves the 23-year old’s talent for taking life lessons, the heart-ache that comes with them, and spinning it all into glitter-strewn yet vulnerable pop music. The record explores the end of relationships from every angle; friendships, romantic relationships and everything in between. With every track co-written by Astrid, the lyrics give an insight into a momentous two years for her, where she has learned to accept life lessons and move forward with gratitude, depicted in the album title ‘Leave It Beautiful’.

As part of the launch of ‘Leave It Beautiful’, Astrid S has partnered with Snapchat to launch the entire album through Augmented Reality (AR). From today, Snapchatters will be able to hear all ten tracks through specially-commissioned AR Lenses that will allow them to explore and create with the album as well as go directly to their preferred streaming platform to hear more. The AR lenses will live on Astrid S Branded Profile on Snapchat, alongside some exclusive content.

Featured on the album are the singles ‘Dance Dance Dance’, ‘Marilyn Monroe’, a track which tackles female stereotypes and was deemed ‘empowering’ by NME, and ‘It’s Ok If You Forget Me’, which have already amassed over 20m streams in the past few months.

For ‘Leave It Beautiful’, Astrid enlisted an array of global talent to collaborate with, including production and songwriting duo Jack & Coke (Charli XCX, Tove Lo, Carly Rae Jepsen, Rita Ora), who she produced the entire record with. Astrid also worked with a number of award-winning songwriters including Fred Ball (Rihanna, Beyonce, Madonna), Amy Wadge (Ed Sheeran, Alicia Keys), Eyelar (Demi Lovato, Little Mix), Ludvig Söderberg (Tove Lo, P!nk), Caroline Ailin (Dua Lipa, Katy Perry) and Tia Scola (Saweetie).

‘Leave It Beautiful’ follows an already successful career to date including the release of three successful EPs, over 1.5 billion streams, collaborations with the likes of Shawn Mendes and JP Cooper, tours with Years & Years, Zara Larsson and Troye Sivan, and a successful sold-out headline world tour of her own.

Astrid S recently announced new dates for her biggest ever world tour, the ‘Astrid_S: World Tour Part One’, after having to postpone them earlier this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The dates include a show at London’s O2 Academy Islington on 10th November 2021. All new tour dates can be found here.

This tour has been certified by the United Nations as an official signatory of UN’s Climate Neutral Now programme. To achieve this, Astrid partnered with climate company CHOOOSE to measure, reduce and overcompensate the carbon footprint of her upcoming tour. Astrid will introduce a green touring checklist and reduce the remaining, unavoidable emissions by supporting a closely selected CO2-reducing wind farm project in Vietnam verified by the United Nations which supports 5 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The project help replace oil and coal with renewable energy and creates better opportunities for the local population. Emissions are reduced twice as much as the initial footprint, making the tour not only climate neutral but ‘climate positive’.

“Caring for the environment and the generations to come should be at the core of every one of us. No one is perfect, but if everyone does a little it suddenly becomes a lot. Partnering with CHOOOSE is a way for me to take responsibility for my touring, and create a positive impact from doing what I love”, says Astrid S.

We honestly can’t wait for 2021, and will probably need to compensate for our skyrocket streaming numbers in the meantime.
