The morning rave that cleans the planet as you dance
Mornings are made up of rituals; pressing snooze, drinking coffee, getting to the shower before anyone else wakes up. But what if your ritual involved a party in the wee hours of the morning that leave you feeling energetic, grateful, and inspired all before going to work?
In 2013 Radha Agrawal and Matthew Brimer came up with Daybreaker, parties that trade in booze for juice and coffee, club outfits for costumes and yoga pants, and the expectation to be impressive for the freedom to be carefree. Since then they’ve made everyone from LA to Sydney dance, uniting carefree individuals from different backgrounds who want to live a healthier, happier life, and who have invited others like them to join them on the dancefloor. But beyond helping people feel good, Daybreaker also helps people do good, as they’ve recently partnered with CHOOOSE, an environmental organization with a mission to reduce carbon emissions so we can have a cleaner planet to enjoy together. They make it easier for people and businesses to save the world by reducing their carbon footprint, and offsetting more than you leave behind, which makes you not even climate neutral but climate positive. CHOOOSE hijack pollution permits and invest the income straight into UN-projects in developing countries, producing clean energy. CHOOOSE works many ways, including offering subscription services that help offset carbon footprints for individuals or businesses, but it also has a mission to integrate itself into everyday culture so that no matter what we do, we are doing our part without having to think twice about it. Cue its alliance with Daybreaker. Through this partnership, CHOOOSE has pledged to offset every attendee's carbon footprint, which comes out to approximately 30 pounds per person. If you do the math that comes out to...a pretty large number of carbon per Daybreaker party worldwide.
Maybe the idea of getting up before the sun before heading into work is a bit daunting, but when it means starting your day with doing good for the planet and for your soul, it’s probably worth adding to a new morning ritual altogether. See you on the dance floor.
