Inspo of the Week: Kate Raworth

economics planet ecological limits climate action

What do doughnuts have to do with economics?

CHOOOSE wants to create a new conversation around climate change! One that is pink and positive rather than green and grumpy. We cheer for people, solutions, businesses, organizations, and actions that help the climate.

In this weekly column, we’ll introduce something or someone that inspires us. It doesn’t matter if it’s old or new, or if it has a large or small impact. It’s anything that encourages climate action because everything counts.

Our inspiration of the week is Kate Raworth, the economist known for creating ‘doughnut economics’ - a model that takes both social and planetary boundaries into consideration. In this Ted-talk she explains how “we can move countries out of the hole -- where people are falling short on life's essentials - and create regenerative, distributive economies that work within the planet's ecological limits”.
